Today’s song for #MusicMonday is called “Gazing,” by Future of Forestry.

I first heard this song last week, actually. It really struck me as a cool prayer voiced to God through song. I am especially fond of the second verse and the reminder that when we are suffering and when we are broken that our tears and prayers flow like rivers right to God’s heart. A huge part of God’s story as revealed in the Bible is that he is close to brokenhearted people. This is a pattern we even see continue with Jesus and as a part of his ministry; he was close to those who were hurting and needy. And he calls us to do the same.

So take this song as hope for you today if you are feeling hurt, broken, or struggling. God is near and hears your prayers… they flow right to his heart. And on the platform of our greatest struggles, we have a chance to discover his wondrous, amazing grace.
