The Church.

Today’s #MusicMonday is from a pretty frequent guest on here… the folks at Elevation Worship. The song we’re featuring today is an older one from them, but nevertheless very powerful.

I think the lyrics of this song really say it all. Oftentimes when we speak about the “church,” we are speaking about a building or perhaps worship services. I want to challenge us to think of the church the way the Bible asks us to, though. The church is not a building or worship services; it’s God’s people. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are the church. You get a chance to be a carrier of his mission in the world. You get to be a part of putting a broken world back together. You get to be an agent of mercy in God’s kingdom mission to change lives.

It’s my hope that as we listen to this song that we might be moved with compassion to be the church in our world and make a difference!
