The Strong Challenge.

So, as you are hopefully aware, this weekend our church decided to embark on a journey together called The Strong Challenge.

I’m really excited about this series of messages. Just like getting strong physically, getting strong spiritually doesn’t just happen. It takes work. Dedication. Discipline. But it is so worth it. And I’m convinced that as we journey along with what it means to be strong together, three things will happen:

  1. We’ll be equipped with the inner strength required to handle life’s storms, struggles, and difficulties.
  2. We’ll experience the fullest joys of life as we live it the way God intended.
  3. We’ll be able to live above the “daily grind” of life and live a life that really matters. To phrase it like we do so often around Suncrest, we’ll be better equipped to be used by God to change lives.

strong_series_1280_720One of the key elements of the Strong Challenge is the challenge cards. If you’re in a community group going through the Strong Challenge, you’ll get some of these in your group. But if you’re not in a group (or your group isn’t going through the Strong Challenge), never fear! Help is on the way.

You can actually access the challenge cards online. We’re encouraging everyone to do five challenges a week. Each one takes between 10-20 minutes. And then when you finish, journal about your experiences with the challenge that day. (I am not a journaler, so I promise it’s not hard. Literally, it’s just writing about your experience with the challenge that day.) As you go through the cards, you are slowly (but surely) building the inner strength that Jesus cultivated in his followers and that the Holy Spirit desires to build into us!

Accessing the challenge cards online is as easy as going to It’s pretty self-explanatory, but here’s a video from yours truly that actually explains the process and how you get involved. Best of luck to you as you embark on the journey to be strong!
