Let Me Feel You Shine.

I have always really loved songs that are styled as prayers set to music. They always feel really personal to me for some reason.

Today’s song is like that. But it also will rock your face off. So, the best of both worlds I suppose.

It’s called “Let Me Feel You Shine” by the boys at David Crowder*Band (who are sadly no more). It’s a prayer asking for God to allow us to feel his face shine down upon us, especially as we try to glorify him through some of the tough parts of life. I was watching an interview with David Crowder earlier this week and he talked about this song being formed as their band started to make the realization that their time together was coming to a close. This was obviously a tough thing for everyone in the group, and this song became especially poignant as the guys asked for God’s face to shine on them as they made a tough decision in following him.

Whether you’re in a band or not, though, I think we’ve all been there. We’ve all had to make a tough choice or tough decision every now and again, and one of the coolest experiences in the midst of times like that is to see God in a tangible way show you that you’re on the right path. While it doesn’t always happen, it’s cool when it does. And I think this song expresses that in a neat way.

So, without further ado, please enjoy! And if you can’t see the video in your RSS or e-mail, just click here.

(“Let Me Feel You Shine” is available on the album “Give Us Rest.”)
